The second-ever Premier Boxing Champions fight card touched down in Ontario, California via Spike TV and produced more action than the first installment the week prior.

Things got started early as Shawn Porter took on late replacement Erik Bone’.

Late replacement Bone actually provided solid work for being a one-day notice sub-in against a welterweight thought to be in the top ten in his division.

Porter, (25-1-1, 15KO) was favored and eventually scored a stoppage after five frames, but Bone’ came to fight and provided some quality rounds to kick off the nights’ televised fights.

“I thought I did great, but I could have done more… I could have been sharper.”

“My mistake was taking shots to make shots,” said Porter, who bounced back successfully since losing his title to Kell Brook last summer.

As for what’s next, Porter remains in the premiere division in boxing, filled with name opponents that Porter would welcome.

“I’m healthy and we’re ready to take all comers.”

Thrown in the middle of the televised portion was heavyweight contender and former title challenger Chris Arreola.

Arreola, (36-4, 31KO) weighed in heavy for the fight, which wouldn’t have mattered if he stopped opponent Curtis Harper from Jacksonville, Florida when he had him down and hurt in round one.

There must be something in the water in Florida, because Harper got back into the fight by head hunting, proceeding to fight on almost even terms and taking the favored fighter through all eight rounds in what was hopefully a learning lesson for Arreola.

The night’s main event featured crowd favorite Josesito Lopez and former titlist Andre Berto.

The fight was back in forth after five heats, and Lopez was floored by a rig right hand in round six, then immediately again, prompting a referee stoppage at the hands of third man at 1:03.

Berto, (30-3, 23KO), keeps himself a solid opponent in the welterweight division and a staple on the PBC series.

Fighters in attendance: Leo Santa Cruz, Karim Mayfield, Mauricio Herrera, Abner Mares. MMA: David Ortiz, Ken Shamrock.
