The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight was expected to become the top grossing fight of all-time, with Mayweather’s junior middleweight clash against Canelo Alvarez beating out Mayweather-De La Hoya last year with a live gate of $20,003,150.00.

Today, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has informed 3MoreRounds that Mayweather-Pacquiao took in a whopping $72,198,500 at the gate with 16,219 tickets sold. That puts the average price of a ticket to the fight at $4,451, as 16,219 tickets were sold. The NSAC added that 46 tickets were comped, four of them in the $10,000 price category and 42 at $2,500. Somehow 9 tickets to the fight went unsold.

Those are some massive numbers, as the fight did more than triple at the gate than did Mayweather-Alvarez and though PPV numbers are still being calculated, it’s being projected that it could do over 5 million buys. Staggering figures!
