Bute returns with TKO over Di Luisa

Former super middleweight champ Lucian Bute (32-2, 24 KOs) ended a 19-month layoff on Saturday night, with a dominating performance over Andrea Di Luisa (17-3, 13 KOs) in Montreal.
Bute got off to a slow start, as he looked to shake off the ring rust, before gaining confidence and becoming more aggressive.
Di Luisa wasn’t particularly quick and lacked enough fire power to keep Bute at bay, as he slowly began to wilt from Bute’s big punches.
In the fourth, Bute opened up and was landing thumping shots upstairs, while a four-punch combo sent Di Luisa down. ¬†Though Di Luisa got to his feet, he was pretty wobbly and Bute followed it up with another barrage of punches that caused Di Luisa’s corner to throw in the towel.
In the co-feature, Eleider Alvarez (18-0, 10 KOs) remained unbeaten, while handing Isidro Prieto (24-1-3, 20 KOs) the first loss of his career, with a dominant unanimous decision win. Scores were 117-111 by all three judges.
