Chad Dawson returning this weekend on Showtime
- Updated: June 19, 2014
“Bad” Chad Dawson makes his ring return this weekend, opening the SHO Extreme portion of the Showtime fight card from the Stub Hub Center in Carson, California.
Dawson says the one year layoff has not changed him and despite two straight losses to Andre Ward and Adonis Stevenson, he’s ready to go.
“I’m coming off losses in my last two fights, but nothing’s changed.
“I’m just back to being myself. I’m working hard with Eddie and doing the right things. I’ve been training for this fight for about two months.”
Dawson takes on George Blades and moved his training camp to Las Vegas to train with Eddie Mustafa Muhammad.
“I’m getting ready for the second chapter of my career,” he said. “I’m back to Bad Chad.”
Also on the SHO Extreme card is Olympian Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale, who last fought in April and stayed ready following his eight round decision against Nagy Aguilera.
“I stayed right in the gym after my last fight,”
“You’ve got to stay on top of it – you never know when you’ll get a phone call. For this fight, I’ve been going through different sparring partners, guys who have been around the game, have a little bit of experience.
Breazeale faces Devin Vargas, also a former Olympian.
The SHO Extreme telecast beings at 8 PM ET/PT.
