Who’s ready for some solid (catch) welterweight action!

On deck we have two former champions meeting at 144 pounds from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada as Adrien Broner takes on fellow Ohio native Shawn Porter.

The event is a Premier Boxing Champions card to televised live by NBC tomorrow.

Tickets for Saturday’s event are priced at $400, $300, $100 and $50 and tickets for Sunday’s event are priced at $100, $75, $50, and $25.

Enough with the particulars, let’s step inside with ring with these two action fighters!

POWER

Broner may have the edge with more KO’s on his ledger (22 to Porter’s 16 KO’s), but both are known to have the goods when trading leather on both the inside and outside.

Porter is not coming into this contest as the lesser known power fighter of the pair, but the contracted weight limit of 144 gives pause to some critiquing the fight, thinking Porter is perhaps giving Broner an unjust advantage. That line of thinking could prove true.

ADVANTAGE: BRONER

SPEED

Both fighters are fleet of foot, one of the aspects of the fight that make it appealing. There’s also no loss of hand quickness in either fighter.

Gun to head, one may have to lean towards Broner, but this one could go either way.

ADVANTAGE: BRONER

EXPERIENCE

This will be one notch for Broner’s cap, as the already two-division champion has fought on the higher stages of the sport when compared to Broner.

ADVANTAGE: BRONER

So that’s how 3MR sees the bout, but don’t think for one second that this will not be a competitive bout on Saturday and perhaps one that could turn into a Fight of the Year candidate right before our eyes.

Also, word out of Vegas is that Porter is the betting favorite.

So there you go readers, what say you?
