Terence Crawford earned a unanimous decision win over Viktor Postol to unify the WBO and WBC junior welterweight titles.
Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) dominated much of the fight, dropping Postol (28-1, 12 KOs) twice in the fifth round while making himself a difficult target to hit.
Postol tried his best to get to Crawford but was simply outclassed and was hurt again in the ninth round. During the 11th, Postol also had a point deducted for hitting Crawford in the back of the head. In the final round, both fighters went toe-to-toe, but it was Crawford that got the best of the exchanges.
Final scores were 118-107, 118-107, and 117-108. The win also gives Crawford recognition as the true junior welterweight champion, as recognized by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board.
In the co-feature, unbeaten two-time Olympian Oscar Valdez (21-0, 18 KOs) made quick work of Matias Rueda (26-1, 23 KOs) to win the vacant WBO featherweight title. Valdez rocked Rueda in the opening round with a vicious assault, and in the second round, floored him twice with a body attack.
