ESPN’s Boxcino Finale set for May 23


The dust has settled in the popular Boxcino middleweight and lightweight tournaments and the final two fighters in each division will square off this Friday, May 23.

In the middleweight final, Brandon Adams (14-0, 9 KO) will meet Willie Monroe Jr (17-1, 6 KO.)

Adams earned his way to the final with a split decision victory over Ray Gatica in the semi-final last month.

An eight-round unanimous decision win over Vitalii Kopylenko on the same card that Adams was on punched Monroe Jr’s ticket to the finals.

Petr Petrov (34-4-2, 15 KO) will face Fernando Cárcamo (17-5, 13 KO) in the lightweight Boxcino final.

Petrov scored a fourth-round TKO victory over Chris Rudd in the semi-finals back in March.

In an close, exciting fight that went the distance, Cárcamo won a majority decison over Miguel González to get into the finals.

Friday’s show, from the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, N.Y., will air live at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and on the WatchESPN app.
