Ding ding ding!!!!

Ready to sit back and watch the Battle for Los Angeles?!!!!

That’s what we are getting this weekend as Abner Mares and Leo Santa Cruz battle for city bragging rights at the famed Staples Center in Los Angeles, California!!!

Ticket demand was reportedly heavy, so in the event you were not able to attain tickets, be sure to tune in to ESPN for the Premier Boxing Champions promoted event.

But enough with that, lets’ get into the particulars!!!!!!

When records are matched up, it may seem deceiving that Santa Cruz as more stoppage wins that Mares (17 to 15) as Santa Cruz started his career at 115 to Mares 120. With that in mind, although Santa Cruz has more stops, he has stopped lighter weighted fighters compared to Mares’ KO’s.

Power is a huge aspect in this fight, since this will be only the second opponent Santa Cruz has faced that has weighed over 124 pounds.

Santa Cruz is climbing up in weight.

Will Santa Cruz’s power follow?

Just one aspect of this interesting match-up that makes it all the more appealing!

Gun to head, and gut call, you got to lean to Mares, with a question mark.

Yet another toss up call.

Which do you prefer?

The perhaps heavier handed Mares loading up with big shots that are anything but slowly thrown, or the speed and combinations from Santa Cruz?

Hard to decide who will be slighter of feet come canvas time, as both LA fighters are no slouch in this department.

If it has to be decided, you can assume the naturally lighter weighted Santa Cruz will be a notch higher in this respect, yet not by much.

While both boxers are no stranger to championships, its Mares who has logged more championship rounds and is the more decorated fighter overall in comparison to Santa Cruz.

In addition to being the more accomplished fighter, Mares is also the more accomplished fighter at the weight where Saturday night’s fight will be held at.

So there you have it, 3MR readers!!!!

We see it a 2-1 advantage in Mares’ direction, yet there are so many compelling aspects to this fight, so we won’t know what happens until the bell rings!!!!

Tune in!!!!
