It’s been over a year and a half since Timothy Bradley earned a victory – a decisive win over Juan Manuel Marquez, in one of his finest performances.  Since that 2013 win, Bradley was outpointed by Manny Pacquiao in their rematch and had to settle for a somewhat disputed draw against Diego Chaves last December.

At 31-1-1 with 12 KOs, they are the only two blemishes on his record, but come June 27 in Carson, California, Bradley will look to ruin someone else’s pristine record, when he takes on Jessie Vargas (26-0, 9 KOs) at the StubHub Center on HBO.

The two fighters were on hand in Los Angeles this week to formally announce the fight, which will be contested for the vacant WBO welterweight title – the very same title Bradley lost to Pacquiao.

“I’m excited to be back in the ring with an undefeated champion,” said Bradley. “I look forward to the challenge and to take his ‘0’ away from him on June 27th.”

The last time Bradley fought at the StubHub Center, he engaged in the Fight of the Year, when he outpointed Ruslan Provodnikov in defense of his title

Vargas meanwhile, held a junior welterweight belt and defended it twice in 2014 but now has his sights set on gold at 147 pounds.

“I am thrilled to have this fight,” said Vargas. “I will be facing a very talented fighter and when you have two great talents with a lot of heart it always makes for a great fight. I always elevate my game against better competition. I am ready to show and prove that I am one of the best fighters out there. There is not one doubt in my mind that everyone will enjoy this fight. I look forward to giving the fans the best of Jessie Vargas on June 27. ”

Fight fans looking to get tickets to the fight can snatch them up today via Ticketmaster for $150, $75, $50 and $25.

Additional fights will be announced at a later date.
