Adrien Broner looks set to make a return to the welterweight division for a matchup with fellow Ohioan Shawn Porter.
According to The LA Times, the bout will headline a Premier Boxing Championship card on NBC and a catchweight of 144 or 145 pounds is expected to be announced.
Broner (30-1, 22 KO) fought on the inaugural PBC card in March, earning a unanimous decision victory over John Molina Jr.
This will be his second venture into the welterweight division. The first one saw Broner win a title against Paulie Malignaggi before getting overpowered by Marcos Maidana.
Porter (25-1-1, 16 KO) got back into the win column with a knockout victory over late replacement opponent Erick Bone in a PBC on Spike TV card in March. Porter had previously lost his IBF welterweight title to Kell Brook last August at the StubHub Center.
Broner vs Porter is expected to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
