Burns makes weight, Figueroa does not
- Updated: May 8, 2015
Another fighter failed to make weight today as earlier in the day, Frankie Gomez was grossly overweight for his now-canceled fight against Humberto Soto.
Now Omar Figueroa, who is scheduled to fight former champ Ricky Burns, failed to make weight as well.
Figueroa came in at 141.25 pounds, while Burns came in at 139.25 pounds for their junior welterweight bout (limit is 140 lbs).
The fight however will go on as Burns likely received the customary payoff to go through with the fight.
The Premier Boxing Champions card will air on CBS at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT.
