Finals for 2015 Boxcino tourney are set

On ESPN Friday Night Fights, the finals for the 2015 Boxcino tournament were determined, as the semifinals for the heavyweight and junior middleweight division took place.

In the heavies, Andrey Fedosov (27-3, 22 KOs) overcame a first round knockdown at the hands of Lenroy Thomas (19-4, 9 KOs) after a perfectly timed one-two set him to the canvas.  However, Fedosov reestablished himself in the second and a barrage of punches, punctuated by a body shot sent Thomas to one knee, where he was counted out.

The other semifinal match-up, Donovan Dennis (14-2, 11 KOs) scored a huge knockout over Razvan Cojanu (13-2, 7 KOs) in the second round.  As the two big men were exchanging punches, Dennis connected with a thudding left cross to the jaw of Cojanu that sent him slumping to the canvas.

Fedosov will now face Dennis in the final on May 22.

In the junior middleweight division, Brandon Adams (17-1, 11 KOs) stopped Vito Gasparyan (15-4-5, 8 KOs) in the seventh round.  Adams was in control after Gasparyan suffered a badly swollen ear.

Finally in the last semi, John Thompson (16-1, 5 KOs) earned a split decision win over Stanyslav Skorokhod (9-1, 7 KOs). Scores were 77-75, 78-74 (Thompson), and 78-74 (Skorokhod).
