Frampton vs Quigg approved by IBF

A junior featherweight showdown between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg is now scheduled for February 26, 2016 at the Phones4U Arena in Manchester, England.
The IBF sent out a press release on Monday morning announcing the approval of the championship unification bout.
Frampton (21-0, 14 KO) was in a surprisingly tough battle against Alejandro Gonzalez Jr in July. He overcame two knockdowns in the first round to earn a unanimous decision over the Mexican fighter.
Having last fought on the same day as Frampton, Quigg (31-0-2, 23 KO) had an easier time with former champion Kiko Martinez. Quigg stopped the Spanish fighter in two rounds.
The IBF says the winner must fight the sanctioning body’s mandatory within 90 days of the Frampton vs. Quigg fight.
