Golovkin, Brook in NYC

Middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin and welterweight beltholder Kell Brook met in New York City on Thursday afternoon, as the two were on hand to promote their recently-announced September 10 clash at The O2 in London.
“I’m very happy to come back to New York City, I love this city,” said Golovkin. “Just a couple days ago, my promoter Tom Loeffler called me and said Kell Brook wants to fight me. This is big news for me, I know him, he’s very good fighter.”
Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) is coming off a knockout win over Dominic Wade in April and having been unable to secure a fight with Chris Eubank Jr., Triple G has looked to Brook.
“Kell Brook is the best in his division and a big test for me. It will be a great show for everybody watching on TV or in the arena.”
Brook (36-0, 25 KOs), who has won three straight since winning his welterweight title from Shawn Porter, is making his debut at middleweight for this fight.
“It’s great to be in New York today. I’ve looked down in history and see what the greats did, Sugar Ray Leonard and Sugar Ray Robinson. It’s going to be a very hard fight; we’re going to go through hell in this training camp.”
“I want to give back to the fans and give them the best fights possible. I’m ready for the challenge Gennady Golovkin brings and ready to win the fight,” said Brook.
Tickets for the fight went on sale on July 15 and sold out in 11 minutes.
