Golovkin-Wade undercard results
Pedro Duran dominated opponent Pedro Lopez enough that Lopez quit on his stool in an action super featherweight bout that ended the undercard fights.
Paramount, California’s Duran, (14-0, 11KO) scored multiple knockdowns that had The Forum crowd on their feet. Lopez’s record fell to 6-3-1.
Super lightweight Ryan Martin (14-0, 9KO) scored an impressive stoppage victory over Rosbel Montoya inside five rounds of their scheduled six round bout. Ohio’s Martin had a near year layoff, which showed early, but Martin scored with consecutive right hands that were preceded by two knockdowns earlier in the bout, which prompted Raul Caiz Sr. to waive off the bout.
Tijuana, Mexico’s Kenia Enriquez (16-1, 8KO) landed bombs throughout her two-knockdown stoppage win against Amaris Quintana; Quintana was a willing participant but was simply outgunned by Enriquez.
A left hook downed San Diego’s Quintana in the first frame and the fighter valiantly threw back and managed to get to round two. Quintana, (9-3-2, 1KO) again showed her mettle in round three by throwing back when stunned by Enriquez, but eventually was stopped when she was felled again in the fifth round, prompting a referee stoppage.
The night’s festivities began with an all action female fight that was closer than the judges scorecards indicated as Los Angeles native Seniesa Estrada, (6-0, 1KO) remained undefeated in six pro bouts by besting Selene Lopez. Lopez (3-5-3, 1KO), had a slow start but showed a solid chin by fielding Estrada’s best punches and had success midway through the six round fight, which should have garnered the Mexicali, Mexico native at least a round or two after 18 minutes of action.
Fight of the night undercard-wise!
