Pinoy Pride 26: Fists of the Future set for June 21

ALA BoxingOn June 21, the 26th installment of the cutting-edge Pinoy Pride series is back.

ALA Boxing, which prides itself as the gold standard of fight promotions in the country, has always invested on the future of Philippine boxing.

Appropriately entitling its next event “Fists of the Future”, some of the best young talents in boxing this side of the world will be showcased again.

At a recent press launch, the main card was announced.

To be held at the Waterfront Gate Hotel and Casino, Cebu City, Jason “El Nino” Pagara headlines against Mexican Mario Meraz. The elder Pagara (33-2, 20 KOs) puts up the “international” light welterweight WBO title against Meraz (20-3, 16 KOs).

His younger brother stars with him. “Prince” Albert Pagara fights for a minor title as well against Hugo Partida, also of Mexico. The undefeated Pagara (20-0, 14 KOs) gets his stiffest challenge yet as he fights Partida (21-4, 16 KOs) for the similar minor title sanctioned by IBF.

Featured too is the return of 26-year-old AJ Banal, who breaks a 7-month long break. Banal (30-2, 21 KOs) tests another undefeated fighter on the card in Indonesia’s Defry Palulu (10-0, 9 KOs).

Jimrex Jaca is the senior of the main card as he gets back in action against another Japanese. The 30-year old gets to stay busy with Masayoshi Kotake (9-8-1, 5 KOs).

ALA Boxing Promotions recently acquired a license to promote fights in America, and as they work towards it, they continue to deliver “the best boxing show in Asia”.
