Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KOs) has been criticized for his supremely boring performances as of late, but on Saturday night, “El Chacal made quick work of Sod Loknongyantoy (63-3-1, 27 KOs) in Macau, China.

The unified junior featherweight champ came out aggressively, as he said he would and was clearly looking to make a statement.

Rigondeaux and Looknongyantoy first collided heads early on in the round, which hurt the challenger bad enough to go down. Though he got up, he did so slowly and appeared to be in bad shape.  As the fight resumed and the fighters touched gloves, Rigondeaux rocked him with a left and a right that sent Looknongyantoy down hard, which ended the fight.

Rigondeaux has now completed the last fight of his contract with Top Rank and will now go elsewhere, while Lookgnongyantoy’s loss ended a 37-bout winning streak.

Earlier on in the evening, former two-division champ Brian Viloria (34-4, 20 KOs) scored a fifth round knockout over Jose Alfredo Zuniga (11-6-1, 5 KOs) from a left hook to the body.
