Rocky Juarez to headline Golden Boy Live on January 26
- Updated: December 12, 2014
Former world title contender Rocky Juarez (30-10-1, 21 KOs) will be headlining the January 26 Golden Boy Live! card in San Antonio, Texas, where he’ll be taking on Robinson Castellanos (20-10, 13 KOs) in a 10-round featherweight title eliminator.
“It is not often that two veteran gladiators face off with one final title shot likely up for grabs,” said Oscar De La Hoya. “This is the last shot for two battle-tested fighters, and fans in San Antonio will get to witness first-hand what these boxing lions will do to make it back to the top.”
The 34-year old Juarez has come up short in prior title bids against Juan Manuel Marquez, Chris John and Marco Antonio Barrera and is hoping for one last crack at a title shot. Meanwhile, Castellanos has won 12 of his last 13 bouts, including wins over Celestino Caballero and Ronny Rios.
The card is being co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Leijah Battah Promotions, with tickets already on sale for $100, $65, $35 and $20.
Fox Sports 1 will televise the card.
