Showtime to offer standalone service in July
- Updated: June 3, 2015
Showtime will finally offer a standalone streaming service, that will allow fans of the network to watch shows and boxing without a cable subscription.
The streaming app, which will just be called “SHOWTIME”, will launch on July 12 and will be available for the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV, and will be a great way for boxing fans to catch some fights for those not willing to shell out extra cash cable or satellite service.
HBO has already begun offering a similar service, so fans can easily keep up with boxing on both networks, along with the free fights currently being made available on NBC and CBS with Premier Boxing Champions. Fights that do air on Showtime will not only be available on demand, but can also be watched live, as they do on the channel itself, according to a Showtime rep.
The standalone Showtime service run for $10.99 per month.
