On the undercard of the Pacquiao-Bradley PPV, Jessie Vargas (24-0, 9 KOs) earned a twelve round unanimous decision over Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9 KOs) in a fight that could’ve gone either way. Scores were 115-113, 115-113 and 117-111.
Earlier in the night, Bryan Vasquez (34-1, 17 KOs) decisioned Jose Felix Jr. (26-1-1, 21 KOs). Vasquez used his superior boxing skills to outwork Felix, while a low blow in the ninth resulted in a point deduction against Felix. Interestingly enough, that point deduction would be the determining factor in the fight, despite the feeling that Vasquez dominated, with scores of 117-110, 114-113, 114-113.
Making his pro debut, Olympic light heavyweight bronze medalist Oleksandr Gvozdyk knocked out Mike Montoya with a brutal right hand in the final seconds of the first round.
