Fighting for the first time in a 10-rounder, Zou Shiming (5-0, 1 KO) remained unbeaten with a unanimous decision win over Luis De La Rosa (23-4-1, 13 KOs) at the Venetian Macao. The fight was action packed with Shiming moving well and using a quick left jab to setup his three-punch combinations.
De La Rosa however, was game, as he repeatedly felt the heat and responded with quick but wild punches that got the crowd off its feet. A one-two from Shiming nearly sent De La Rosa to the canvas in the fourth round but he managed to stay on his feet in another high-intensity round. An accidental headbutt int he fifth opened up a cut over De La Rosa’s left eye, though it never became too big of a problem in the fight.
The 10th round was another exciting round with both fighters letting their hands go as left hooks and right crosses were the order of the day. Scores were 99-91, 99-91, 97-93 in Shiming’s favor.
