ShoBox has televised bouts featuring some of the biggest names in the sport, including Timothy Bradley, Andre Ward, Paul Williams, Robert Guerrero and Shawn Porter.
Now, the landmark series will celebrate its 200th telecast this weekend.
“Everyone at SHOWTIME is extremely proud of the uniqueness of this series and the impact it has had on fighters since 2001,” said Gordon Hall, Executive Producer, ShoBox: The New Generation.
“To have the ability to give exposure to young fighters and help them develop and transition from prospects to contenders is great not only for our series but also for the sport of boxing.”
ShoBox has been presented live from eight different countries and has been as competitive a series as there is in the sport, with 75 total matchups between undefeated fighters and nine fighters who lost on the show went on to become world champions.
This weekend the main event will be live from Turning Stone Resort & Casino in New York, with middleweight prospect Antoine Douglas taking on Michael Soro in a 10 round fight.
In commemoration of the 200th bout, Showtime plans to lay out a bevy of content, re-broadcasting some of their greatest fights. A micro-site was launched by Showtime this week featuring a gallery of photos from all 200 fight cards.
In addition, analyst and boxing historian Steve Farhood has put some of his favorite moments on The Boxing Blog (http://theboxingblog.sho.com/).
